Dew Tour 2023 Day 1 Recap

Lights! Snow! Action!
Dew Tour 2023 was an incredible showcase of some of the world’s most talented snowboarders and skiers. The competition, held in the stunning mountain setting of Copper Mountain, Colorado provided a perfect platform for the athletes to demonstrate their skills and abilities in a variety of events.
As always, the Dew Tour 2023 was packed with excitement and adrenaline. The athletes battled it out in events such as slopestyle, halfpipe, and a really cool event called Super Streetstyle. Athletes from all over the world pushed themselves to new heights and amazed the crowds with their gravity-defying tricks and maneuvers.
One of the highlights of the Dew Tour Snow 2023 was the diversity of the athletes. From rising stars to established veterans, the competition featured a range of talents from across the globe, including countries like the United States, Canada, Japan, and Norway. This diversity added a unique flavor to the event, highlighting the global nature of snow sports and the incredible skill and dedication of athletes from all corners of the world.
On Saturday, Brendan Mackay improved upon his 3rd place finish from his last Dew Tour appearance and took home 1st place in Men’s Ski Superpipe. He was followed by David Wise and Aaron Blunck.

A pair of the younger generation of riders did battle in the Women’s Snowboard Superpipe. Patti Zhou and Gaon Choi electrified the crowd with runs that no one would forget. In the end, Gaon Choi landed three flawless runs, which all scored in the 90s. It was good enough to take home 1st place, following up her on her gold medal from X Games Aspen last month.
As the night continued, it was time for the newly revamped Super Streetstyle course. The course, “now approximately 450 feet long and nearly double in size from last year, includes four unique features all with varying elements including rails, poles, a quarterpipe, multiple transfers and more” according to the Dew Tour Team. After head-to-head matchups in heats, three athletes compete in the Finals to determine a winner. For Women’s Snowboard Super Streetstyle, Lex Hernandez-Roland came through the course with high speed, and landed a technical switchback 50 combo to seal the win.Jaylen Hansen won Best Flip for her Front Board Pretzel (no, not the food, though that does sound tasty right about now).
To close everything out, Colby Stevenson took home the title of Dew Tour Champion as he won the Men’s Ski Super Streetstyle after besting out Tucker Fitzsimons and Alex Hall. Edouard Therriault won the Best Trick award for his Wallride Rodeo 540. All of the riders displayed amazing skill and technical prowess on a course that was rebuilt from the ground up. The course, having been moved to the bottom of the mountain, allowed fans to be closer to the action.
